Morrocco’s geological treasure located 1400 m above the sea level. Situated on the East side of High Atlas Mountains, 15 km from Tinghir.
Total lenght of the Gorge is 25 Miles. The most spectacular part is 600 meters long and is located by the hotel.
Canyon walls reach over 300 meters in heigh and are one of Morrocco’s top atractions for tourists, photographers, bikers and climbers.
In the Gorge there are about 500 climbing routes. Limestone is very good with great friction. You can buy guide book in Hotel La Valleé.
Non-climbers can also enjoy gorges by taking a hike. Trail takes about 4 hours, 12 km and 400 m elevation.
While walking you can feel a little of nomads life, Berber settlers from Atlas Mountains, crossing wilderness with herds of goats and sheep.
For those who look for a bit more extreme experience with breathtaking view we recommend Via Ferrata (iron railed route), which takes about an hour. It is not difficult, but unforgettable experience for the whole family. At the hotel you can rent necessary equipment and make an appointment with guide.
